2004-05 NATIONAL FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR

A week after being named Big East Co-Rookie of the Year, Georgetown's Jeff Green is the 2005 CollegeInsider.com Freshman of the Year.

Green, a unanimous selection for the All-Rookie Team, was also named Honorable Mention All BIG EAST. Green is the team's second leading scorer averaging 13.2 (13.4 in BIG EAST play). He leads the team in rebounding (6.8), assists (2.9) and blocks (1.4). He has been honored five times this season as BIG EAST Rookie of the Week and was named to the Rainbow Classic All Tournament Team.

He set career high in scoring with 22 against Connecticut 1/8/05, in rebounds with 12 at Villanova 1/15/05, in assists with seven at Boston College 1/29/05, in blocks with six against Penn State 12/6/04, and in steals with four against Long Beach State 12/22/04.

His numbers may not be as impressive as other candidates, but his talent and importance to the team is difficult to ignore.
