Coach Keating is straight out of the motion picture, "A Bronx
Tale" or at least he thinks he is. This Tennessee assistant is the
complete package, as every woman in Knoxville already knows.
KERRY KEATING SAYS...
Describe the type of women you have been dating? "Currently
dating a tall, beautiful blonde, ex-college basketball player who
is studying to be a dentist. Medical students. Highly recommend
this to all coaching bachelors. A lot of time in labs, and
studying, allows you the time to coach, recruit and travel. Also a
great financial insurance policy in case the coaching gig doesn't
work."
What did you like/dislike about them? "She's got a better
post game that I do. However, my mom loves the new smile (hers and
mine)."
Describe your typical first date? "Good Italian dinner,
find out her reaction to the sauce (if she calls it gravy - all
bets off, a ring will follow), see if she says she can make it
better at home... I would marry that woman, but the Italian
restaurants in Tennessee - well, some things are better left
unsaid. Hard to compare. Maybe a date at Tony's DiNapoli on 83rd
and 2nd would help, but the ECAC won't invite Tennessee to the
holiday festival."
Have you ever been on a blind date and if so how did it turn
out? "Once. Good thing she couldn't see me when I left."
What would you like to know about someone before you went on a
date? "If she knows that a pick and roll involves a ball and
not a nose."
What would you want her to know about you before you went on a
date? "That I date women that would make my Mom and
Grandmother proud."
What's the first thing you notice about a woman? "Her
eyes."
What qualities do you look for in a woman? "Good sarcastic
sense of humor, strong family values, ability to hold her own
against me in the kitchen."
What's the sexiest part of a woman? "Her midsection."
What's your biggest turn on/off? "Turn on - simplistic
beauty. Jeans and sweater or T-shirt type. Turn off - too much
makeup."
Which famous person would you like to date? Kelly Ripa,
sweet, funny, sexy, sarcastic, and if she can put up with Regis
every day, she'd certainly make a heck of a coaches wife!"
What's the one thing a woman can do on a date that would
impress you? "Lean over and unlock my door after I let her in
the car. Sonny says that qualifies her as "one of the greats."
If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
"I'd be married. Answering these questions is one thing, but
having no home cooked meals every other night is getting a little
unbearable."
If you life had a slogan what would it be? "One Step Ahead"
or "Never a Lay up"
What would be the title of your biography? "On the move."
What would you do if you won the lottery? "Buy Al Daniel a
new wardrobe. Wow. He's a big time FPI killer, obviously keeping
me out of the top ten - like a non D1 game that doesn't count.
Maybe Angela Lento can cut me a break since I feel like Gonzaga -
no one will play."
What five words would your boss use to describe you?
"Relentless, Sarcastic, Loyal, Competitive, Driven."
