1- Christian Laettner's jumper

No fan of March Madness will ever be able to forget Christian Laettner's jumper in the 1992 East regional final when he snatched victory from the very last moments for Duke. It was Krzyzewski's Duke against Pitino's Kentucky in the Elite 8 and Laettner grabbed the moment to immortalize his name in the history of March Madness. This was the time when the game had almost slipped from Duke's hand, for they were trailing by 1 point when only 2.1 seconds remained in overtime.

Laettner received a pass from Grant Hill, then dribbled once and hit a jumper that delivered Duke an amazing 104-103 victory. USA Today deemed it the greatest NCAA Tournament game of all time.

2- Jim Valvano's celebration

NC State's victory against Houston in the 1983 NCAA Tournament is regarded as one of the greatest upsets of all time. The importance of this game plus the manner of NC State's victory made it an unforgettable moment for all the March Madness fans.

Houston was the heavy favorites for winning the game, but when the game actually started, the teams looked the same in terms of quality on the pitch. In fact, NC State was leading at half-time by 33-25 score, but the Cougars fought very well in the second half to make it an interesting contest. However, the last moment belonged to NC State as Lorenzo Charles's dunk at the last second secured a great and memorable victory.

After the game, Jim Valvano kept running around the court looking for someone to hug. His manner of celebration and Charles's last-second dunk became hugely famous in the history of the NCAA Tournament.

3- George Mason's unbelievable run to the Final Four

George Mason's 2006 campaign has earned them special respect among all the March Madness fans. As an 11 seed, George Mason defied expectations and made the world take notice by a series of amazing performances. That season, Jim Larranaga's team reached several milestones which included winning a record 23 regular season games and making it to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament. Their match against Connecticut Huskies in the Elite Eight is recognized as one of the most memorable games in the history of this competition. Their thrilling magical run also included a great victory against the defending champion North Carolina Tar Heels also.
