BOSTON, MA -- COLLEGEINSIDER.COM, the nation’s leading college basketball website, is proud to announce that its All-Access NYC College Basketball feature, highlighting Iona College, LIU-Brooklyn and Manhattan College, has been nominated for a 2013 NEW YORK EMMY AWARD. This is the first time COLLEGEINSIDER.COM has been nominated for an Emmy.

The 56th Annual New York Emmy Awards will be presented at a black tie gala on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at The Marriott Marquis in Times Square. The nominations were announced yesterday morning during a ceremony hosted by Jacqueline Gonzalez, Executive Director of NY NATAS.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be nominated,” said CollegeInsider.com co-founder Angela Lento. “We are extremely fortunate to have such a talented video staff.”

The content aired on February 28, 2012 and was produced and filmed by Tad Hathaway. It is nominated in the Sports Coverage: Sportscast/Series category along with four other media outlets. Other nominated outlets in the category include MSG Plus with its Scott Niedermayer Greatest Career Moments piece and SNY and its Sportsnite - Giants Win the Super Bowl feature.

The award show honors content from over 110 categories ranging from Morning Newscast to Documentary. Other nominees for the 56th Annual New York Emmy Awards include NY1, MSG Network, WNBC-TV and Jets Television Network.

CollegeInsider.com morphed from a print publication to a web site in 1996. One year later the successful Coach Column feature was introduced. Since then it has become a staple of the website along with other unique content like All-Access Video and exclusive offerings like the Mid-Major Top 25. In 2009 the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament was created. What began as 16-team event quickly expanded to 24 teams in 2011 and is now a 32-team postseason event, with invitations extended only to teams outside of the BCS power conferences.
