In the early years of CollegeInsider.com, Angela
Lento was an invaluable part of the business development
of the web-based company. In 1999 she took on an
expanded role, creating The
Runway to the Fashionable
Four and the
Fashion Power Index
Angela's fashion features have become a favorite
among fans, media and coaches alike, including the
50 Most Eligible Bachelors and
College Basketball's 50 Sexiest.
Her writing duties now include "Life & Styles" and she
is a regular contributor to the National Association of
Basketball Coaches website,
NABC.com. Angela also
served as the
featured "Mid-Major" columnist for the national
publication,
Basketball Times
for three years.
In addition to all of her business and writing
contributions, Angela has also spearheaded efforts to
assist Marquette assistant Trey Schwab and the National
Organ Donor program. Angela has been a guest on ESPN
Radio as well as countless other national sports talk
shows.
Angela was a driving force in coaches paying tribute
to legendary
Mount St. Mary's coach Jim Phelan. On March
1, Phelan coached his final game after 49 years.
Throughout the weekend, coaches like Bob Huggins, Kelvin
Sampson, Roy Williams and countless others paid tribute
to coach Phelan by wearing a bow tie.
Bow Tie Day was a fitting tribute to a man who won 830
wins and coached more games than anyone in history. She
is also on the voting panels for both the Phelan Award
and the
Hugh Durham Award.
In the fall of 2005, Angela and Virginia Tech head coach
Seth Greenberg organized
All Coaches Care, which
helped raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
