THE FASHIONABLE 4

For the second time in two seasons, the previous champion was unable to defend his crown. Rice’s Wilson reached the Fashionable 4 for the fifth time in six seasons, but it was Gary Waters (Rutgers) who took home the title. John Calipari (Memphis) and Mike Jarvis (St. John’s) each made their first appearance in the Fashionable 4.

The Assistant Coach Tournament wasn’t quite as clear cut as Tony Jones (UW-Milwaukee) and Kerry Keating (Tennessee) concluded the competition is a tie. The controversial decision by the judges was not well received by either competitor or the fans.
