FEINSTEIN PLUGS FASHIONABLE FOUR
Well known author, John Feinstein’s book, "The Last Amateurs," contains a nice descriptive passage on "The Runway to the Fashionable Four."
Pages 174-175
“… Clothes are Mentesana’s addiction. He dresses so well that in the spring of 2000 when an Internet site staged a sixty-four-coach dress-off (complete with a full bracket, just like the NCAA Tournament), the national dressing champion was Mentesana. He beat Jay Wright of Hofstra in the Fashionable Eight (Wright had been the number one seed in the region but Mentesana knocked him off) and then beat Fang Mitchell of Coppin State in the semis and Willis Wilson at Rice in the title match. It was not a knockdown, drag-out affair. Couldn't be with so much expensive clothing involved…”
